There are still quite a few seats to fill in Croke Park as we get set for the second of today’s Leinster football semi-finals.

The Kildare fans travelling to the capital will hope the seniors can emulate their minors who beat Dublin in a high-scoring affair earlier this afternoon.

Here are the teams named earlier this week:

Dublin

1. Stephen Cluxton (Parnells)

So, eh, how do Dublin and Kildare follow what just happened between Meath and Westmeath then?

There are two late changes for Dublin

Rory O’Carroll (24) comes in for David Byrne while Cian O’Sullivan, who had been listed to start in midfield, moves to right half-back.

Michael Darragh McCauley (22) replaces Daly beside Brian Fenton in midfield.

They’re playing the anthem and we’re almost ready for throw-in.

And we’re under way…

Kildare 0-1 Dublin 0-0

Emmet Bolton opens the scoring for Kildare with a fine point. Diarmuid Connolly has a chance to level things up but kicks wide.

Kildare 0-1 Dublin

Paul Flynn looked like he was more accurate from long range but after going to hawkeye, the referee reverses the umpire’s decision.

Kildare 0-1 Dublin 0-0

Great defending from Jonny Cooper when it looked like Kildare were through on goal.

Kildare 0-1 Dublin 0-1

And straight down the other end Dublin open their account through Kilkenny.

Dublin 0-2 Kildare 0-1

Kilkenny doubles his and Dublin’s total with a beautiful, curling effort.

Dublin 0-2 Kildare 0-2

Kildare are level with a lovely point through Padraig O’Neill.

GOAL! – Dublin 1-2 Kildare 0-2

Dublin 1-3 Kildare 0-2

That was far too easy for Dublin and Dean Rock hand the simplest of tasks to score the game’s first goal. Connolly follows up with a quick point.

Dublin 1-3 Kildare 0-2
Kildare have missed a couple of kickable scores. Not something they can really afford to do against any side, never mind Dublin.

GOAL! – Dublin 2-3 Kildare 0-2

GOAL! – Dublin 2-3 Kildare 0-2
Bernard Brogan adds Dublins second after a storming run down the right wing.

Diarmuid Connolly took the brunt of his thunderbolt though.

Dublin 2-4 Kildare 0-2
Brogan follows up his goal with a fine effort from play that took an age to drop over the bar.

Dublin 2-5 Kildare 0-2
Connolly adds to his and Dublin’s total. All one way traffic at the moment.

The 16th minute round of applause is observed by the entire stadium.

Dublin 2-6 Kildare 0-2
You can’t help but feel Dublin are only in second gear here and they still lead by ten points after Ciaran Kilkenny’s third score of the game.

O’Neill kicks Kildare’s third wide and the atmosphere in Croke Park is muted.

Dublin 2-7 Kildare 0-2
Kildare’s marking is non-existent and Kilkenny now has 0-4.

Dublin 2-7 Kildare 0-3
Cathal McNally with Kildare’s first score in 20 minutes. Looked like there might be a goal chance on but a score’s a score for Jason Ryan’s men.

Dublin 2-7 Kildare 0-4
Padraig Fogarty with another Kildare score. The comeback is hardly on yet but this is better.

He’s not wrong.

Dublin 2-8 Kildare 0-5
Brogan brings his personal total to 1-2. Eoghan O’Flaherty replies down the other end.

The atmosphere is not great in Croke Park but it looks like a training game to be fair.

Dublin 2-9 Kildare 0-5
Philly McMahon probably should have scored a goal but he settles for a point.

Dublin 2-10 Kildare 0-5
Dean Rock points a close-range free kick, the first score for Dublin from a place ball.

Yellow card for Cathal McNally in the build up.

Dublin 2-10 Kildare 0-6
Kildare looking for a goal but having to settle for points, Fogarty with their sixth of the half. Ten points between the teams.

GOAL! Dublin 3-10 Kildare 0-6

HALF-TIME – Dublin 3-10 Kildare 0-6
Diarmuid Connolly puts Dublin ahead of the spread with their third goal of the game just before the half-time whistle.

The second half is just about to get under way.. just how much will Dublin win by? The spread was 11 at the start of the game.

Dublin 3-10 Kildare 0-6
Dublin really should have opened the second half with a goal there, but Brogan’s effort was weak and easily saved.

This is how a lot of people are probably feeling:

Dublin 3-10 Kildare 0-6
Yellow cards for both Paul Flynn and Gary White for some handbags.

Dublin 3-10 Kildare 0-7
Paul Cribbin gets the first score of the second half following a quick kickout by Kildare.

Dublin 3-11 Kildare 0-7
Alan Brogan and James McCarthy on for John Small and Kevin McManamon. Dean Rock adds another free.

Dublin 3-11 Kildare 0-8
Alan Smith with a long-range score. Kildare’s best point of the game so far.

Dublin 3-11 Kildare 0-9
Eoghan O’Flaherty points a close free and the gap is back to 11 points.

Dublin 3-11 Kildare 0-10
Dublin looked sure to add another goal but a wonderful save by the Kildare keeper denies them. Down the other end, Niall Kelly — who has just come on — makes it a ten point game.

Dublin 3-11 Kildare 0-11
Eoghan O’Flaherty with his third point but Kildare really need goals.

Dublin 3-12 Kildare 0-11
Dean Rock ends a run of four unanswered points for Kildare. The gap is 10 again.

Dublin 3-14 Kildare 0-11
Alan Brogan adds two quick points and Dublin have finally realised the second half has started.

Dublin 3-14 Kildare 0-12
Eoghan O’Flaherty points a close range free when his team-mates were pleading with him to go for goal.

Dublin 3-15 Kildare 0-12
Pretty sure everybody on the field has a yellow card at this stage. Alan Brogan points his third for those keeping score.

Dublin 3-16 Kildare 0-12
His brother Bernard brings his own total to 1-3. The gap is 13 points.

Dublin 4-16 Kildare 0-12
Goalkeeper Mark Donnellan gets a black card for pulling down Dean Rock and Colin Heeney can’t stop the resulting penalty as Diarmuid Connolly shots home.

Dublin 4-16 Kildare 0-13
Padraig Fogarty has been one of the few bright spots for Kildare but they still trail by 15 points after his last score.

Here’s the penalty incident:

Dublin 5-16 Kildare 0-13
Bernard Brogan scores Dublin’s fifth goal and this is training ground stuff from the Dubs to close out the game.

Dublin 5-16 Kildare 0-14
Padraig O’Neill with probably the score of the game there for Kildare.

Dublin 5-17 Kildare 0-14
Connolly points from miles out.

Dublin 5-18 Kildare 0-15
Dean Rock kicks the final score of the game.

FULL-TIME – Dublin 5-18 Kildare 0-15

That’s all from us. Dublin win by 19, their biggest championship win over Kildare since 1897 according to those who know these things.

It’ll be the Qualifiers for Kildare against Offaly next week while Dublin will play Westmeath in the Leinster final, their 10th appearance in the provincial decider in 11 years.

Thanks, as always, for joining us.
